KRISTAN CARL E. MALAZARTE

President

Chamber Year 2024

Welcome Message

It is a mix of excitement and humility to serve our vibrant business community in Camarines Sur. As the second youngest CSCCI President, I joined CSCCI, but never crossed my mind that one day I will be its president. I have been and is still being nurtured, encouraged, and guided by all our Past Presidents whom I look upon as my idols not only in CSCCI but also in Business and in Life.

The matinee idol charms of IPP Simon Dy, PP Doc Butch Figuracion, and PP Jeremie Lo. The oozing sex appeal of PP Alex Gaite and PP Raymond Concepcion. The wit and innovation of PP Rico Evangelista. The grace and impeccable taste of PP Sol Magtuto and PP Emma Llorin. The Inspiration of PP Monmon Ngo. And the omnipresence of PP Hoover Picar, now serving as Regional Governor of Bicol. Thank you for allowing me to stand on your shoulders.

To our Current Board of Trustees, Events Chairpersons and Committee heads, with your dedication, I know our projects will be a resounding success. To our Supportive Member and New Members, Lets continue to love our Chamber even more.

In my experience here at CSCCI, it has never been about one person. It has always been a collective effort giving our time, talents, and treasures. Our vision remains resolute: to foster long-term prosperity for both our beloved CSCCI and the entire Camarines Sur. We are committed to building even stronger partnerships with all essential government agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs).

These collaborations will enable us to navigate government policies more effectively,

and we can ensure that the interests of our business community are heard, and our region thrives economically. I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Governor Luigi Villafuerte and the entire province of Camarines Sur for their steadfast support over the years. Your partnership has been invaluable to CSCCIs success.

Furthermore, we recognize the significance of cooperation and guidance from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as other chambers both in the Philippines and worldwide. By working collaboratively, we can share best practices and exchange innovative ideas.

We have inaugurated the CSCCI Building, signifying our unwavering commitment to our Mission and Vision. This building stands tall as a symbol of our dedication and resolve to serve our community faithfully. It represents our message that the Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. is here to stay, ready to serve for years and years to come.

Innovation and adaptability play pivotal roles in the success of businesses in Camarines Sur. We have chosen the theme for this year’s CamSur Business Expo to reflect this reality:  “Driving Competitive Advantage Through: Cultivating Adaptability, Resilience, and Leadership Excellence.”

We have tailored our plans and programs to empower our local MSMEs to embrace new technologies, adapt to changing market dynamics, and lead with resilience and excellence.

I am excited for the journey ahead, as we work together to soar to greater heights.

With your support and the collective efforts of our chamber members, CSCCI is and will always be a beacon of economic growth and innovation.

Thank you for entrusting me with this privilege, and together, let us shape a brighter future for Camarines Sur. I will do my best to serve you, as your 2024 CSCCI President.

CSCCI HISTORY

CSCCI BUILDING

The inception of CAMARINES SUR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY, INC. was the result of the foresight of the distinguished and multi-awarded statesman, Congressman Luis R. Villafuerte.

The goal was to establish a province-wide coalition of committed businessmen and entrepreneurs. This organization sought to serve as a private sector counterpart to the provincial government, playing a role in advancing the economy of Camarines Sur. Emphasis was placed on strengthening the business sector, fostering partnerships with other LGUs, NGOs, and entities, and stimulating economic activities and livelihood opportunities.

The inaugural meeting and election of the first set of officers occurred on July 26, 2002, at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Pili, Camarines Sur. Subsequently, on August 8 of the same year, the Constitution and By-Laws were officially adopted during the chamber’s inaugural session at the University of St. Anthony, Iriga City, following the successful resolution requesting affiliation with the PCCI.

In that same year, the CSCCI joined forces with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) with backing from the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Currently, its members endeavor to persistently uphold the goals of the CSCCI, continually improving as it progresses. The CSCCI will persist as the advocate for business in Camarines Sur.

CSCCI Fact!

THE EASE OF DOING BUSINESS LAW

Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 is an act that aims to streamline the current systems and procedures of government services. It is the landmark law of the Duterte administration that addresses priority number 3 of its 0+10 Point Socio-economic Agenda. This particular agenda pertains to improving the competitiveness of and ease of doing business in the Philippines. Signed into law on 28 May 2018, the law effectively amends Republic Act 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007.
The strengthened version of the law is poised to facilitate prompt actions or resolution of all government transactions with efficiency. It applies to all government offices and agencies in the Executive Department including local government units (LGUs), government-owned or -controlled corporations, and other government instrumentalities, located in the Philippines or abroad, that provide services covering business-related and non-business transactions as defined in the IRR.
